Core: Artists and Critics in Residence will be published by the Museum of Fine Arts Houston to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Core Program.

Also in May, Devin Borden Hiram Butler Gallery in Houston will present an exhibition of works by Core Program alumni.

I participated in a panel at the College Art Association conference in Dallas entitled Painting and Critique in the Age of the Market, co-chaired by Christopher K. Ho and Peter Rostovsky; the other panelists were Kevin Zucker, Christopher Bedford, and Jonathan Neil.

I spent most of January and February in the Puget Sound area installing an exhibition, Nearer to Thee, at Open Satellite in Bellevue, Washington. The exhibition was curated by Marisa Sanchez, Assistant Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Seattle Art Museum; it was on view from February 23 to April 5.

I spent the month in Iceland as a resident in the SIM program in Reykjavik, and participated in an exhibition of work by resident artists at SIM Hafnarstraeti.

The Sirens' Song, a painting exhibition curated by Kelly Baum, Assistant Curator at the Blanton Museum of Art, was on view at the Rubin Center in El Paso. Other artists whose work was included in the exhibition were Seth Alverson, Gilad Efrat, Joey Fauerso, Ali Fitzgerald, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Kirk Hayes, Philip Maysles, David McGee, Xiomara de Oliver, Vincent Valdez, and Will Villalongo.

Six new paintings were presented in a solo show at Devin Borden Hiram Butler Gallery in Houston. Titled Salt From Sand , the exhibition was on view from August 18th to September 30th.
